Five - Easter event 2012 quick tutorial

Easter event 2012 - Evil Chicken VS Chocatrice!

Events usually stay open 2 weeks after Easter. As of now, it is still open. Go and do the event if you haven't done it yet, as it will close soon!

Start: Varrock Square. (center of Varrock, near water fountain)

Requirements: None.
Prize for finishing event: F2P, once you've completed the event for both birds you'll get 2 different masks. Egg on face mask and chocolate egg on face mask.

P2P: If you complete a hunt in 1 go, you'll get an xp lamp. If you do the hunt 3 times, and complete in 1 hunt, you'll get to keep the cannon. You'll also get the 2 different masks.

****Turn the 'Game' tab to show 'All'****
(Reason for this is, everytime someone in your world finds an egg, it will state the location!)
Also join the friend chat 'egghelp' people in there are hunting as well. So calling out locations, or asking for locations is helpful.

Talk to either Evil chicken or Chocatrice.
They will inform you that the Easter Bunny has had an accident and you'll need to find the eggs.
They will give you a cannon to blast the eggs open.
Depending on who you chose to talk to,
Evil chicken will want you to turn the chicks that popped out of the easter egg into fried chicken.
Or Chocatrice will want you to turn the chicks into chocolate covered chicks.

Go through the chat, with the bird.
How do I hunt the eggs etc..
Click on Start Hunt when it appears in the chat box.
The option after this is Can I have a hint. Take the hint. Then set off to hunt the eggs.

Locations are all over RS.
Make sure you have the right shooting style. Clicking on the 'Combat Styles' icon will show you if you are turning the chicks into fried chicken or chocolate.

Once you have found all 3 (f2p) and 5 in p2p head back to the Chicken/Chocatrice in Varrock and talk to them.

They will ask you for the 'treats' that you collected and in return give you the mask.
You have to talk the chicken/chocatrice to enchant your cannon to make it permanent.

XP lamp reward for p2p will give you 10x the xp level, e.g. level 23 x 10 = 230 xp in that skill.

Congratulations you have completed 1 part of the event. :P

You'll have to do the event again to get the other mask. Or do it 3 times to make the cannon permanent.

Step 1: Create a new account.

Now what people don't want to tell you is you have to be referred to get the free trial. 

So find someone to refer you, here is the one I used: (link broken)

Yes the link is freaking long. But I don't want people to think that I am phishing. I will find out how I can refer, but for the meantime. This is the one that I used.

You can see it's the official RS website up there.

(When you log in the person whose referral link you signed up under will automatically be added to your friends list. So that way you will know who referred you, their in-game name will show up in blue, with a little symbol next to it. You can PM for some help if you need to. They will also have your name in their friends list, unless they delete you for some reason. Then add me and I'll see about helping you out. But not of the monetary kind though...)

Step 2. You will have to sign up with an email address, make sure it's one that you can actually access. Not a fake one. Because you need to click on the confirmation link in the email that Jagex sends you.

Step 3. Create your character, display name etc... 

This is pretty straight forward. 

Step 4. Log in to a members world if you aren't. Go through the quick tutorial steps. 

The tutorial is fairly long. If you are a new player you can go through the whole thing, may take you the whole 14 days to do so. But if you're a seasoned pro... (I like to pretend I am :P) then when you get out of the cave, and have blasted the cannon to block the tunnel entrance, then by all means turn OFF the tutorial mode.

Here's how to do it.

Step 1: Click on the tasks icon.

Step 2: Click on 'Open Tasks List' button that shows up.

Step 3: Click on 'Options' button, located at the top of the pop up. Located top right.

Step 4: Click on 'Tutorial is ON' button. Then click OK.

All done.

Now, go out and enjoy all that members has to offer.

A few cons about the free trial that you might like to consider before going and trying it out. 

1. You are limited to storing 300 of 1 type of item. Totally sucks when you have over 5k feathers from killing chickens. 

2. You can only buy and sell items on the Grand Exchange in sets of 50. Again.. this is really bad if you are trying to sell all of your items before your trial runs out. LOL!

What about 2x the XP in 7 days?

Once you hit level 30 in any skill, the 2x XP will no longer apply. 

So if you are training Rune-crafting, which I recommend. Once you get to level 30, you'll receive the normal amount of xp.
